Basketball Recap: Texico Piles Up the Points Against Tatum

Texico had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 13.3 points) and they went ahead and made it four on Friday. They took their contest with ease, bagging a 79-36 victory over the Tatum Coyotes. The Wolverines have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 11 matchups by 25 points or more this season.

Several Coyotes players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Anthony Montez, who posted five points and five boards. Montez is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in each of the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Robert Martinez, who had eight points.

Texico's win was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 23-2. As for Tatum, they have been struggling recently as they've lost 11 of their last 12 games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-20 record this season.

Texico does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Tatum, they will challenge Eunice at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
