Preview: Hilldale Hornets vs. Legacy Academy Warriors
The Hilldale Hornets will take on the Legacy Academy Warriors at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hilldale will be strutting in after a victory while Legacy Academy will be coming in after a defeat.
Last Friday, Hilldale earned a 50-37 victory over Beggs. The win was just what Hilldale needed coming off of a 58-19 defeat in their prior contest.
Meanwhile, Legacy Academy and Garrett Memorial Christian squared off in some playoff action on Saturday, but sadly Legacy Academy had to settle for second. They fell just short of the Saints by a score of 74-71. Legacy Academy's loss signaled the end of their eight-game winning streak.
Legacy Academy's loss came about despite a quality game from Oaklee Lofton, who dropped a double-double on 58 points and 18 rebounds. That was a full 81.7% of Legacy Academy's points, marking the sixth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Skylar Alexander, who scored six points along with six rebounds.
Even though they lost, Legacy Academy smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 27 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Hilldale is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 7-11 record this season. As for Legacy Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 19-6.
