Softball Recap: Brandon Snaps Four-Game Streak of Wins on the Road

Brandon was the 8-7 winner over Florence when they last played one another back in March of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. Brandon fell just short of Florence by a score of 5-3 on Friday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Bulldogs have suffered since March 28, 2024.

Brandon saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Hannah Jo Sullivan, who went 1-for-4 with one stolen base and two RBI.

Even though they lost, Brandon hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now struck out at most two strikeouts in three consecutive matches.

Brandon's loss ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 15-2. As for Florence, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-5.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Brandon will host Northwest Rankin at 6:45 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Brandon 3.5, Northwest Rankin 1.5) so any runs scored will be well earned. As for Florence, they will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Wesson at 6:30 p.m. on April 11.
