Basketball Recap: Make It 24 in a Row for Millard West

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Millard West had no problem doing just that on Wednesday. They blew past the Millard South Patriots 56-33. The Wildcats have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 19 contests by 20 points or more this season.

Millard West's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Jade Lewis, who shot 45% from the field to rack up 11 points and eight boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Kylee Paben, who went 5-for-9 en route to 13 points and seven rebounds.

Millard West was working as a unit and finished the game with 16 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Millard South only three assists.

Millard South's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Aubrey Carder, who posted 17 points and five boards, and Abbi Durow, who earned seven points and six rebounds.

The victory (which was Millard West's 24th in a row) raised their record to 26-1. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 30.2 points. As for Millard South, their defeat dropped their record down to 16-10.

Coming up, Millard West will square off against Lincoln North Star at 1:30 p.m. on Friday. Lincoln North Star will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something Millard West surely won't give up without a fight. Millard South does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
