Basketball Recap: Ponca City Comes Up Short

Ponca City was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They had to suffer through a 67-20 loss at the hands of the Bixby Spartans. While losing is never fun, the Wildcats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Oklahoma basketball rankings (they are ranked 280th, while the Spartans are ranked 17th).

Ponca City's loss dropped their record down to 6-16. As for Bixby, the victory (which was their 14th in a row) raised their record to 21-2.

Looking ahead, a feisty cat fight will be fought as the Wildcats face off against the Jaguars at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Bixby, they will challenge Union at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Both teams are headed into the matchup with plenty of momentum (Union has won seven straight at home, while Bixby won nine straight on the road dating back to last season), something that'll have to change.
