Soccer Game Preview: Mountain View vs. Massaponax

The Mountain View Wildcats will look to take advantage of their home pitch for the first time this season as they take on the Massaponax Panthers at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Neither squad made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Mountain View is likely headed into the matchup with a focus on the second half, which is when things went downhill against Independence on Tuesday. The Wildcats lost 3-0 to Independence.

Meanwhile, Massaponax was not able to break out of their rough patch two weeks ago as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were a single goal away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-1 heartbreaker at the hands of Courtland. Massaponax fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team's lost against Courtland since two weeks ago.

Mountain View's loss dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Massaponax, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-3.

Mountain View took their victory against Massaponax in their previous meeting back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 248-0 score. Will the Wildcats repeat their success, or do the Panthers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
