Soccer Recap: King Takes a Loss

King was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They came up short against the Sickles Gryphons, falling 8-0. While losing is never fun, the Lions can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida soccer rankings (they are ranked 466th, while the Gryphons are ranked 61st).

King's loss dropped their record down to 1-8-1. As for Sickles, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 7-1-4.

After both having extra time off, King and Plant City will dust off their jerseys to square off against one another at 6:00 p.m. on January 7, 2025. As for Sickles, they will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Wharton at 6:00 p.m. on January 7, 2025. Both have allowed few goals on average, (Wharton: 0.5, Sickles: 0.3) so any goals scored will be well earned.
