Soccer Recap: Coronado Comes Up Short

Coronado lost against Amarillo back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Coronado Mustangs came up short against the Amarillo Sandies, falling 5-0. While losing is never fun, the Mustangs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 237th, while the Sandies are ranked 68th).

Coronado is on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-5. As for Amarillo, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 12-1.

Coming up, Coronado will challenge Lubbock-Cooper at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Amarillo, they will face off against Plainview at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The timing is sure in Amarillo's favor as the team sits on five straight wins at home while Plainview has been banged up by seven consecutive losses on the road.
