Football Recap: Summit Christian Academy Eagles vs. Liberty Tigers
Summit Christian Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss dating back to last season. They lost 42-20 to the Liberty Tigers. The Eagles were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Tigers apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in September of 2017.
Despite the loss, Summit Christian Academy still got an impressive performance from James Logan, who rushed for 115 yards and two touchdowns, and also threw for 190 yards on nine of 23 attempts. Backing up that air attack was Gordon Fuller, who rushed for 80 yards and a rushing touchdown.
Liberty's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jaylen Prestridge led the charge by rushing for 151 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 8.9 yards per carry, and also picking up 42 receiving yards and a touchdown. That's the most rushing yards Prestridge has posted since back in October of 2023. Casen Briscoe was another key player, throwing for 361 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 15.7 yards per attempt.

Summit Christian Academy is taking a road trip to take on Regent Prep on Friday. Hopefully Summit Christian Academy focused on turnovers this week as team gave up seven on Friday. As for Liberty, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Morris at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
