Preview: Hermiston Bulldogs vs. Sunnyside Grizzlies
The Hermiston Bulldogs will be playing at home against the Sunnyside Grizzlies at 5:45 p.m. on Tuesday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.
Hermiston kicked off their season on the road on Tuesday and hit a couple of potholes. They took a 79-60 bruising from Prosser.
Meanwhile, Sunnyside strolled past Pasco with points to spare on Friday, taking the game 69-52. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Sunnyside.
Lili Briones and Aubrey Garza were among the main playmakers for Sunnyside as the former scored 20 points along with 8 rebounds and the latter scored 12 points along with 7 rebounds and 6 steals. That makes it two consecutive games in which Briones has scored at least 25% of Sunnyside's points. Lexi Moncivaiz was another key contributor, scoring 10 points.
Hermiston's loss dropped their record down to 0-1. As for Sunnyside, their win bumped their record up to 2-0.
Hermiston came out on top in a nail-biter against Sunnyside when the teams last played back in December of 2022, sneaking past 73-70. Does Hermiston have another victory up their sleeve, or will Sunnyside turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
