Softball Recap: Bastrop Comes Up Short

Tuesday just wasn't the day for Bastrop's offense. They came up short against the Leander Lions on Tuesday, falling 10-0. The loss continues a trend for the Bears in their meetings with the Lions: they've now lost three in a row.

Bastrop saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Madison Perez, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one double. Hannah Sagebiel also deserves some recognition as she got her first hit of the season.

Bastrop's defeat dropped their record down to 17-7-2. As for Leander, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 23-9 record this season.

Bastrop didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 14-2 victory against Hendrickson on the 24th. As for Leander, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 10-8 win against New Braunfels on the 24th.
