Baseball Recap: Loyola Comes Up Short

Loyola lost to Sleepy Eye back in May and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Crusaders fell just short of the Indians by a score of 8-6.

Loyola's defeat was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 13-9. Even worse, they were so close so many times: the losses came by an average of only 2.25 runs. As for Sleepy Eye, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-6 record this season.

Loyola wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next matchup, a 4-0 win against New Ulm Cathedral on the 2nd. As for Sleepy Eye, they will venture away from home to take on Madelia at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Blackhawks' pitching crew has only allowed 2.2 runs per game this season, so the Indians' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
