Volleyball Recap: Heritage's Run of Ten Straight Wins Now Over + How To Watch

After flying high against Franklinton on Tuesday, Heritage came back down to earth. The Huskies fell just short of the Wakefield Wolverines by a score of 3-2 on Wednesday. The Huskies' loss signaled the end of their ten-game winning streak.

Heritage actually scored more points across those five sets (104-99), but sadly they still had to settle for second. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-21, 15-25, 19-25, 25-20, 15-13.

Grace Winterbone paced Heritage's offense, picking up 18 kills. Winterbone got some help from Megan Bailey and her 20 assists. Winterbone also made an impact serving: she shared the team lead in aces with Alex Chassin, each putting up two.

Heritage's defeat dropped their record down to 10-6. As for Wakefield, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 9-7.

Heritage has already played their next match, a 3-0 victory against Vance County on the 25th. As for Wakefield, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 3-0 loss against Rolesville on the 25th.
