Baseball Recap: McLane Takes a Loss

McLane fell victim to Hoover and their airtight pitching crew on Tuesday. They fell just short of the Patriots by a score of 1-0. The Highlanders have struggled against the Patriots recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive lost meeting.

McLane saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Leland Flores, who went 2-for-3 with one double.

Even though they lost, McLane hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now struck out at most four strikeouts in three consecutive matches.

McLane now has a losing record of 6-7. As for Hoover, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 4-6.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. McLane will face off against rival Torres at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Hoover is set to take on their familiar foe Sunnyside at 3:30 p.m. on Friday.
