Recap: R.J. Reynolds Demons vs. North Wilkes Vikings
The R.J. Reynolds Demons were the 52-40 winner over the North Wilkes Vikings when they last played one another back in November of 2022, but their luck changed this time around. R.J. Reynolds ended up on the wrong side of a tough 64-44 walloping at the hands of North Wilkes on Wednesday.
Despite the loss, R.J. Reynolds had strong showings from Elliott Jessup, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 12 rebounds, and Shyla Simms, who scored 21 points along with 5 rebounds. The contest was Simms' third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Millie Powers, who scored 2 points along with 7 rebounds.
R.J. Reynolds' loss dropped their record down to 2-1. As for North Wilkes, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-0.
R.J. Reynolds will be playing at home against Atkins at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. North Wilkes will be staying on the road on Wednesday to face off against Watauga at 6:30 p.m. on November 29th. Hopefully Watauga focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 12 on Saturday.
