Football Game Preview: Williston Northampton Wildcats vs. Cheshire Academy Cats

The Williston Northampton Wildcats will square off against the Cheshire Academy Cats at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Williston Northampton is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They claimed a resounding 42-7 win over Deerfield Academy. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Wildcats' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Massachusetts football rankings (they are ranked 20th, while the Big Green are ranked 74th).

Meanwhile, Cheshire Academy's game on Saturday was all tied up 7-7 at the half, but luckily for them it didn't stay that way. They walked away with a 21-14 victory over Brunswick School. The 21-point effort marked the Cats' lowest-scoring game of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.

Williston Northampton now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Cheshire Academy, they now also have a winning record of 3-2.

Williston Northampton strolled past Cheshire Academy when the teams last played back in November of 2024 by a score of 42-26. Will the Wildcats repeat their success, or do the Cats have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
