The Alhambra Lions will venture away from home to challenge the ALA - West Foothills Guardians at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday. One thing working in Alhambra's favor is that they have posted at least ten runs in their last four matches.
Alhambra's pitching crew heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Wednesday. They blew past Metro Tech 20-0. The Lions might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight games by six runs or more this season.

Nicolas Reyes was a major factor no matter where he played. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out nine over four innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one walk in three consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with two doubles and one RBI. Those three hits gave him a new career-high.
In other batting news, Alhambra let Hector Villanueva and Juan Marrufo run wild. Villanueva scored two runs and stole three bases while going 2-for-2, while Marrufo scored three runs and stole two bases while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances. What's more, Villanueva posted three RBI, the most he's had since back in February. Another player making a difference was Jose Emilio Mendez, who went 1-for-3 with three runs, one triple, and one RBI.
Alhambra kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least nine hits in four consecutive matches.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for ALA - West Foothills, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Friday. They skirted past Florence 3-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Guardians have posted since March 21, 2024.
The team relied heavily on Johnny Garcia, who scored a run and stole three bases while going 1-for-2.
Alhambra has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-3 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.5 runs on average over those games. As for ALA - West Foothills, their record now sits at 8-4.
Thursday's game might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Alhambra has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .510.
