Softball Game Preview: Crofton vs. Northeast Eagles

Crofton will be defending their home field for the first time this season when they go up against the Northeast Eagles at 4:45 p.m. on Friday.

Monday just wasn't the day for Crofton's offense. They fell just short of Broadneck by a score of 1-0 on Monday.

Meanwhile, Northeast faced Broadneck in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Wednesday. The Eagles walked away with a 7-2 victory over the Bruins. The win was just business as usual for the Eagles, who after six games remain undefeated this season.

Presley McGinty spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on nine hits and racked up six Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Brynn Jones was excellent, going 2-for-3 with three RBI.

Northeast pushed their record up to 6-0 with the victory, which was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Crofton, their loss dropped their record down to 0-2.

Crofton came up short against Northeast in their previous matchup back in May of 2024, falling 5-1. Can Crofton avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
