Softball Recap: Hartselle Takes a Loss

Hartselle and Athens squared off in some playoff action on Tuesday, but Hartselle had to settle for second. They fell just short of the Golden Eagles by a score of 9-8. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Hartselle's defeat dropped their record down to 16-12-1. As for Athens, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last 11 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 29-14 record this season.

Hartselle wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 17-10 victory against Muscle Shoals on the 29th. Hopefully Athens paid attention to the Tigers' contest: the next time they hit the field, they'll take on the Tigers at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
