Basketball Recap: Calumet Christian Takes a Loss

Calumet Christian lost against Victory Christian Academy back in February, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Calumet Christian Patriots took a blow against the Victory Christian Academy Lions, falling 71-38. The match marked the Patriots' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Victory Christian Academy's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Gavin Whitaker, who went 7 of 9 on his way to 16 points along with five rebounds and three steals. The game was Whitaker's sixth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Quinn Jordan, who went 7 for 9 on his way to 14 points and six assists.

Calumet Christian's loss dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Victory Christian Academy, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 5-1.

Calumet Christian will be playing in front of their home fans against Westville at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Victory Christian Academy, they will square off against South Bend Adams at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Victory Christian Academy knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past five matches -- so hopefully South Bend Adams likes a good challenge.
