Basketball Game Preview: Sayreville Bombers vs. Tottenville Pirates

The Sayreville Bombers and the Tottenville Pirates will round out the year against one another at at 1:00 p.m. on Friday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Sayreville is probably headed into the contest with a chip on their shoulder considering Piscataway just ended the team's three-game winning streak on Monday. They fell to the Chiefs 62-57. The loss was the Bombers' first of the season.

Meanwhile, Tottenville entered their tilt with Eagle Academy on Thursday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They walked away with a 57-49 win over Eagle Academy. Given the Pirates' advantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 113th, while Eagle Academy are ranked 313th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Having lost for the first time this season, Sayreville fell to 3-1. As for Tottenville, their victory bumped their record up to 4-2.
