Football Recap: Hortonville Comes Up Short

Hortonville is still winless after their match against Appleton East on Friday, but the team can take solace in the fact it was the closest they've come to winning. They were three points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 15-12 heartbreaker at the hands of the Patriots. The Polar Bears were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Patriots apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in September of 2024.

Hortonville's loss dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Appleton East, the win got them back to even at 2-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Hortonville will venture away from home to challenge Appleton North at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Lightning's defense has only allowed 11.8 points per game this season, so the Polar Bears' offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Appleton East, they will head out to take on Kimberly at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Papermakers will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more points each contest than the last.
