Recap: Timpanogos Timberwolves vs. Mountain View Bruins
While it was all tied up 22-22 at halftime, the Timpanogos Timberwolves were not quite the Mountain View Bruins's equal in the second half on Friday. Timpanogos took a 50-46 hit to the loss column at the hands of Mountain View. Timpanogos has not had much luck with Mountain View recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
Timpanogos' loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jaxen Mccuistion, who scored 13 points along with eight rebounds and two steals. Mccuistion is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Jack Johnson, who scored 11 points along with three steals.
Conner Fairbanks was his usual excellent self, scoring 22 points along with seven rebounds and four steals for Mountain View. Fairbanks is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 15 or more in the last three games he's played. Simeon Suguturaga was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with five rebounds and two blocks.
Timpanogos has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 11-4 record this season. As for Mountain View, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 10-5.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Timpanogos will take on Payson at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Payson focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 18 last Tuesday. As for Mountain View, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Layton Christian Academy at 7:00 p.m. Layton Christian Academy has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 1,045 points over their last 15 contests.
