Basketball Game Preview: East Chapel Hill Wildcats vs. Hillside Hornets

East Chapel Hill hasn't had much luck against Hillside recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The East Chapel Hill Wildcats will be playing at home against the Hillside Hornets at 8:00 p.m. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this game.

East Chapel Hill came up short against Jordan on Tuesday, falling 73-48. While losing is never fun, the Wildcats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 371st, while the Falcons are ranked 36th).

Meanwhile, Hillside was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap back in December of 2024 as they fell 74-68 to Roosevelt.

East Chapel Hill will need focus on slowing down Brendon Watley, one of several Hillside players who made an impact when they last played. He posted 20 points. Watley is trending in the right direction considering he's improved his point production for four straight games. Another player making a difference was Justin Morgan, who earned 19 points.

This is the second loss in a row for East Chapel Hill and nudges their season record down to 3-10. As for Hillside, their loss dropped their record down to 6-6.
