Basketball Preview: Goshen Warriors vs. Wilmington Hurricane
Goshen has enjoyed the comforts of home their last three games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will take on the Wilmington Hurricane at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. Goshen has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 444 points over their last six games.
Goshen put the finishing touches on their seventh blowout victory of the season on Friday. They were the clear victor by a 83-59 margin over Batavia. Given Goshen's advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 78th, while the Bulldogs are ranked 352nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
It was another big night for Caden Zeinner, who scored 35 points along with seven assists and four steals. He has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more points the last 11 times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Luke Ball, who scored ten points along with five rebounds.
Meanwhile, Wilmington came into Saturday's matchup having lost seven straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They took down Mt. Healthy 62-47 on Saturday. For those curious, yes, that was the biggest win Wilmington has managed all season.
Goshen's win was their 13th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 17-2. As for Wilmington, their victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 4-14.
Everything went Goshen's way against the Hurricane in their previous matchup back in January as the Warriors made off with a 70-44 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Goshen since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
