Baseball Game Preview: Glen Ridge Ridgers vs. Belleville Buccaneers

The Glen Ridge Ridgers will head out to square off against the Belleville Buccaneers at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Glen Ridge is coming into the contest on a five-game losing streak.

Glen Ridge fought the good fight in their extra-innings matchup against Cedar Grove on Monday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Panthers by a score of 2-1.

Meanwhile, Belleville hadn't done well against Bloomfield recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Monday. The Buccaneers put the hurt on the Bengals with a sharp 13-3 victory. Considering the Buccaneers' hitters had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.

Glen Ridge's loss dropped their record down to 4-14. As for Belleville, they moved to 7-10 with that win, which also ended their three-game losing streak.

Glen Ridge was able to grind out a solid victory over Belleville in their previous matchup two weeks ago, winning 5-2. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Ridgers since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
