            Softball Recap: Abernathy Antelopes vs. Liberty Patriots        
        
		
        
        
            Abernathy lost against Liberty back in March of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result  on Tuesday. The Abernathy Antelopes came up short against  the Liberty Patriots, falling  16-5. The Antelopes have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
 Scotlann Bickel made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and  scored a  run while going 2-for-2.  Natalie Romo was another key player,  scoring a  run and  stealing a base while going 2-for-4.
 Even though they lost, Abernathy was getting hits left and right  and  finished the game having  posted a batting average of .409. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a  batting average of .394 or higher in four consecutive  matches.
Abernathy's loss dropped their record down to 6-6. As for Liberty,  the  win snapped their losing streak at 14 games  dating back to last season and leaves them with a 1-11 record.
 Looking ahead, Abernathy will look to defend their home field  on Saturday against Lockney  at 11:00  a.m. Abernathy is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.6  runs per game  this season. As for Liberty, they are taking a road trip to  challenge Ralls  at 11:00  a.m.  on Saturday. Ralls has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed ten  runs per game on average), something Liberty will no doubt try to take advantage of.
