Baseball Game Preview: Iola-Scandinavia Thunderbirds vs. Pacelli Cardinals

Iola-Scandinavia is 1-9 against Pacelli since May of 2016 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Thunderbirds will challenge the Cardinals at 4:30 p.m. Pacelli took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Iola-Scandinavia, who comes in off a win.

Iola-Scandinavia is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They were the clear victors by a 15-0 margin over Menominee Indian on Monday. The Thunderbirds might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six games by six runs or more this season.

Meanwhile, Pacelli fell victim to Aquinas and their airtight pitching crew on Saturday. They came up short against the Blugolds, falling 14-0. The pitching woes were uncharacteristic for the Cardinals, who until this contest were averaging 3.52 runs allowed.

Iola-Scandinavia moved to 9-9 with that victory, which also ended their three-game losing streak. As for Pacelli, their defeat dropped their record down to 17-4.

Iola-Scandinavia couldn't quite get it done against Pacelli in their previous meeting back in May of 2024 as they fell 5-0. Can the Thunderbirds avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
