Basketball Recap: Ebany Hill Key Part of Team Effort in Pirates Win

Washburn saw some tournament action on Thursday. They walked away with a 49-36 victory over the Kellogg Wildcats. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Pirates.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Washburn to victory, but perhaps none more so than Ebany Hill, who posted nine points and seven steals. The dominant performance also gave Hill a new career-high in blocks (two). Another player making a difference was Hannah Williams, who dropped a double-double with 12 points and 13 rebounds.

Washburn's record now sits at 6-2. As for Kellogg, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 4-1.

Looking ahead, Washburn and Ramsay will face off at 9:15 a.m. on Friday without much rest, having both just played. The Pirates will need to watch out since the Rams have now posted at least 55 points in their last three contests. The Wildcats will be up against the Warriors' rather soft defense (which has allowed 56.56 points per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
