Basketball Game Preview: Carroll Bulldogs vs. Huntington Raiders

The Carroll Bulldogs will venture away from home to take on the Huntington Raiders at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Carroll can't be too worried about heading out to take on Huntington: they just beat Wossman at home, who had been dominant on their own court up to that point. Carroll snuck past Wossman with a 61-55 win on Tuesday. The victory was all the more spectacular given the Bulldogs' disadvantage in MaxPreps' Louisiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 47th, while the Wildcats are ranked eighth).

Meanwhile, Huntington entered their tilt with Benton on Friday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They came out on top against the Tigers by a score of 51-44.

Huntington's win came from a few key players Carroll will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Keonte Kennedy, who posted ten points in addition to five assists and five rebounds. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in boards. Antonio Dixon was another key player, dropping a double-double on 13 points and 11 rebounds.

Carroll's win was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 17-14. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.4 points per game. As for Huntington, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 15-5 record this season.

Carroll came out on top in a nail-biter against Huntington when the teams last played back in November of 2022, sneaking past 54-52. Does Carroll have another victory up their sleeve, or will Huntington turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
