Basketball Game Preview: El Capitan Eagles vs. Rough Rock Sun Devils

The El Capitan Eagles just played yesterday, but they'll still head out to face the Rough Rock Sun Devils at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with three consecutive losses for El Capitan and six for Rough Rock.

El Capitan is headed into the contest out to prove that what happened against Panguitch on Thursday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. El Capitan took a blow against Panguitch, falling 60-17. The Eagles were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 37-8.

Meanwhile, Rough Rock was beaten by Mayer 45-16 two weeks ago.

Rough Rock's loss dropped their record down to 1-8. As for El Capitan, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-7.

El Capitan was able to grind out a solid victory over Rough Rock in their previous meeting back in January of 2017, winning 54-43. The rematch might be a little tougher for El Capitan since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
