Everything went their way against the Valencia Jaguars on Monday as the Highland Hornets made off with an 80-59 win. That's the third time they've managed to beat them this season, with their most recent victory being a 48-43 win last Wednesday.
Highland was led to victory by Jesus Licon and Juan Limas. Licon shot 60% from beyond the arc en route to 25 points and seven assists, while Limas went 10-for-14 to rack up 28 points along with seven boards and five assists. The dominant performance also gave Limas a new career-high in shooting accuracy (71%). Owen Cheng was another key player, putting up seven points.
They weren't the only ones working in the assist department: Highland was working as a unit and finished the game with 23 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.
Despite the loss, Valencia saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Carin Bustillos posted 23 points and five rebounds. Another player making a difference was Diego Baeza, who put up 12 points.
