Softball Recap: Hawthorne Takes a Loss

Hawthorne was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They lost 18-3 to the Bradford Tornadoes. The Hornets were not able to make up for their defeat to the Tornadoes from their previous meeting back in April of 2023.

Hawthorne saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Anieha Kitt, who scored a run while going 1-for-1.

Hawthorne's loss dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Bradford, their win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 3-4.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Hawthorne will challenge Bronson at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Hawthorne has given up an average of 16.5 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week. As for Bradford, they will take on Eastside at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Eastside will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each contest than the last.
