Basketball Recap: Southampton Academy's Win Ends Three-Game Losing Streak on the Road

Southampton Academy needed a changed in momentum after dropping three straight games and they got it from G Applewhite. The Southampton Academy Raiders breezed by the Tidewater Academy Warriors to the tune of 65-26 on Friday thanks in part to Applewhite, who dropped a double-double on 21 points and 12 boards. Applewhite is crushing it when it comes to rebounds: he's pulled down at least nine every time he's taken the court this season.

D Brantley was another key player, putting up ten points. Those ten points gave him a new career-high.

Southampton Academy's victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 8-10. As for Tidewater Academy, they have been struggling recently as they've lost 11 of their last 12 contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-12 record this season.

Southampton Academy will head out to face off against Blessed Sacrament-Huguenot at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Southampton Academy is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 58.4 points per game this season.
