Softball Recap: South Gate Takes a Loss

After soaring to ten runs the game before, South Gate was a bit more limited in their game on Saturday. They came up short against the Arleta Mustangs, falling 8-2. The Rams were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Mustangs apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in April of 2023.

Leah Jimenez made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored a run while going 3-for-3. She has been hot recently, having posted three or more hits the last four times she's played. Another player making a difference was Veronica Esparza, who went 1-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

South Gate's defeat dropped their record down to 6-12. As for Arleta, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 8-5.

South Gate didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 6-5 loss against Chavez on the 5th. As for Arleta, they have also already played their next contest, a 9-2 victory against Vasquez on the 5th.
