Basketball Recap: Harlandale Indians vs. Southwest Dragons
Harlandale was the 51-44 winner over Southwest when they last played one another back in January, but their luck changed this time around. The Harlandale Indians took a 59-55 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Southwest Dragons. The Indians have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Southwest found their leader in sophomore Loren Anguiano, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 14 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Anguiano has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Julionne Harper, who posted 17 points and seven rebounds.
Harlandale now has a losing record at 10-11. As for Southwest, their win ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 5-15.
Harlandale and Jay will compete for holiday cheer at 6:30 p.m. on December 20th. Harlandale knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past four matches -- so hopefully Jay likes a good challenge. Southwest will take on Winn in a holiday battle at at 6:30 p.m. on December 20th. Southwest is facing Winn at the right time seeing as Winn is stuck on a five-game losing streak.
