Recap: Torrey Pines Falcons vs. Santa Margarita Eagles
On Saturday, Torrey Pines was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 56-50 to Santa Margarita.
Torrey Pines' loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Dylan Kail, who scored 11 points. Another player making a difference was Matin Madadkar, who scored 13 points.
Torrey Pines' defeat dropped their record down to 12-4. As for Santa Margarita, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 11 of their last 12 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 13-4 record this season.
Torrey Pines and Steele Canyon will face off at 7:00 p.m. on January 3, 2024 without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Steele Canyon has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last four games. Santa Margarita's road trip will continue as they head out to face Servite at 7:30 p.m. on January 3, 2024. Servite will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps California Rankings (they are ranked 448th, while Santa Margarita is ranked 71st).
