Baseball Recap: Heritage Christian Wins Going Away Against Rio

The Heritage Christian Patriots made easy work of the Rio Vikings on Thursday and carried off a 9-2 win. The Patriots might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven matchups by six runs or more this season.

F. Siebert was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He pitched four innings while giving up just two earned runs off two hits. Siebert was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with three runs. That's the most runs he has posted since back in April.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Z. Stubbs, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with four RBI. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of I. Dufek, who got on base in two of his four plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base.

Heritage Christian has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a massive bump to their 12-9 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.6 runs on average over those games. As for Rio, they dropped their record down to 3-16 with the loss, which was their 18th straight on the road dating back to last season.

As of now, neither Heritage Christian nor the Vikings have any future games scheduled.
