Basketball Game Preview: South Davidson Wildcats vs. Asheboro Hybrid Academy Warriors

The South Davidson Wildcats will venture away from home to square off against the Asheboro Hybrid Academy Warriors at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Asheboro Hybrid Academy took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on South Davidson, who comes in off a win.

South Davidson took a loss when they played away from home on Friday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Saturday. They took down River Mill 55-36.

Kayra Hulin continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, putting up 38 points. That makes it 12 consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of South Davidson's points. Another player making a difference was Anna Smith, who posted nine points.

Meanwhile, Asheboro Hybrid Academy came up short against State Line HomeSchool R last Friday and fell 33-22. While losing is never fun, the Warriors can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 426th in North Carolina, while the Rush are ranked 184th in Virginia).

South Davidson will have to contain Emily West as she made an impact in Asheboro Hybrid Academy's last game. She earned nine points.

South Davidson's win ended a seven-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 4-8. As for Asheboro Hybrid Academy, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost five of their last six contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-7 record this season.
