Ryan Remigio Jr Turns in Season-Best Performance

Del Norte was led to victory by Ryan Remigio Jr, who turned in his biggest game of the season on Friday. Remigio Jr rushed for 229 yards and a touchdown while picking up 10.4 yards per carry, good enough to set a new career-high in rushing yards in the process.

Del Norte pushed their record up to 5-3 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. Remigio Jr and Del Norte will square off against Ramona at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.

Mt. Carmel was sadly handed a loss on Friday, but Atticus Enriquez did his best to prevent it. Del Norte had no answer to Enriquez as he picked up 91 receiving yards and a touchdown, and also rushed for 85 yards and a touchdown.

Mt. Carmel's defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 5-3. Enriquez and Mt. Carmel will square off against Fallbrook at 7:15 p.m. on Friday.

Riley Valecruz Has Career Rushing Day

Mt. Carmel came up short on Friday despite Riley Valecruz delivering his best game to date. Valecruz picked up 142 receiving yards and two touchdowns, good enough to also set a new career-high in rushing yards in the process.

Valecruz might have his next game, a road matchup with Fallbrook, circled on his calendar. Back in October of 2023 (the last time Valecruz saw the Warriors), he picked up 162 receiving yards and a touchdown.

Kreet Makihele Rounds Out Top Five

Rounding off our Top Five is Kreet Makihele of San Marcos. Makihele threw for 177 yards and four touchdowns while completing 84.6% of his passes. He is on a roll when it comes to passing touchdowns, as he's now passed for three or more in the last three games he's played dating back to last season.

If history really does repeat itself, Makihele might just drop another big game when he faces off against Rancho Bernardo on Friday. Makihele threw for 353 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 14.7 yards per attempt the last time he and the Broncos duked it out back in October of 2023.
