Preview: Christian Fellowship vs. Sunnydale Academy
After four games on the road, Christian Fellowship is heading back home. They will take on Sunnydale Academy at 7:45 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Christian Fellowship's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last eight contests.
Christian Fellowship can now show off nine landslide victories after their most recent matchup on Thursday. They blew past Liberty Christian Academy 61-37. Given Christian Fellowship's advantage in MaxPreps' Missouri basketball rankings (they are ranked 86th, while Liberty Christian Academy is ranked 316th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Christian Fellowship's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Jake Davis, who scored 17 points along with six assists and six steals, and Brett Conklin, who went 7 for 9 from beyond the arc en route to 23 points and 1 assist. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Conklin has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Brendan Royer, who scored six points along with eight rebounds and two blocks.
Meanwhile, Sunnydale Academy scored the most points they've had all season to find success back in December of 2023. They breezed by Heartland Christian Academy at home to the tune of 73-39.
Christian Fellowship pushed their record up to 11-1 with that victory, which was their fifth straight on the road. As for Sunnydale Academy, their win ended a five-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 2-3.
Christian Fellowship won a match that couldn't have been any closer in their previous matchup back in December of 2023, slipping by Sunnydale Academy 40-39. Will Christian Fellowship repeat their success, or does Sunnydale Academy have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
