Softball Recap: Leo Lions vs. Glenn Falcons
Leo had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 5 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Saturday. They put the hurt on the Glenn Falcons with a sharp 9-1 win. Considering the Lions have won four games by more than five runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.
Leo gave Leah Shappell the start and clearly made the right call: she didn't allow a single earned run while striking out ten over six innings pitched. Shappell has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than one earned run any time she's pitched this season. Luci Schott came in to relieve Shappell and was airtight, giving up no runs, hits or walks in her an inning pitched.
On the hitting side, Allie Wolfe was excellent, going 2-for-4 with three RBI and one run. The team also got some help courtesy of Clare Wallace, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with one run.
