Football Game Preview: Archbishop Curley Friars vs. Pallotti Panthers + Official Tickets

Archbishop Curley and Pallotti are an even 4-4 against one another since September of 2015, but not for long. The Friars will square off against the Panthers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

If Pallotti heads into halftime all tied up, they better play a good second half: that's when Archbishop Curley took over last week. The Friars walked away with a 20-13 victory over Our Lady of Mount Carmel on Friday. The Friars haven't had any issues with the Cougars recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.

Mike Cutchember was a one-man wrecking crew as he rushed for 117 yards and one score. Those 117 rushing yards gave him a new career-high.

Archbishop Curley didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as Parker Giannelli, Bailen Boutz, and Cody Rice picked up one apiece.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Pallotti). They simply couldn't be stopped on Friday as they easily beat St. John's Catholic Prep 50-12. The Panthers pushed the score to 43-12 by the end of the third, a deficit the Vikings had no chance of recovering from.

Pallotti found their leader in sophomore Braxton Brady, who rushed for 192 yards and four touchdowns on only 12 carries, and also picked up 54 receiving yards and one TD. Those 192 rushing yards set a new season-high mark for Brady.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Pallotti was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 294 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've managed all season.

The victory was their first at home , bumping their record up to 3-5. As for Pallotti, their record is now 4-5.

Archbishop Curley strolled past Pallotti when the teams last played back in November of 2024 by a score of 21-7. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Friars since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
