Baseball Recap: East Liverpool Takes a Loss

East Liverpool had lost 11 straight at home, but on Friday they dropped their record down to 1-20 to make it 12. They took a 9-4 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Beaver Local Beavers. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Beavers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 8-1 back in April.

As for Beaver Local, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a massive bump to their 6-15 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.0 runs over those games.

For Beaver Local's part, Mikey Druschel was a standout: he went 3-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one double. Druschel is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Aiden Dray, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with one stolen base and one run.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. East Liverpool will be taking part in a tournament against Cambridge at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Beaver Local, they will square off against Struthers at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
