Recap: Wyatt Chaparrals vs. South Garland Titans
On Thursday, everything went Wyatt's's way against South Garland as Wyatt made off with a 73-53 victory.
South Garland's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Elijah Darden, who scored 26 points along with eight rebounds. Darden scored a full 49.1% of South Garland's points, the 15th time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Medford Body was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with ten rebounds and six blocks.
Wyatt's win bumped their record up to 4-12. As for South Garland, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-15.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Wyatt and Arlington Heights will face off at 4:30 p.m. on January 2, 2024 without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Arlington Heights presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Wyatt in Texas (Arlington Heights is ranked 358th, while Wyatt is ranked 1017th). As for South Garland, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Garland at 2:30 p.m.
