Baseball Game Preview: Biloxi Indians vs. Lafayette Commodores

The Biloxi Indians will challenge the Lafayette Commodores at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Neither Biloxi nor Lafayette posted many runs in their last games, so it might be the pitching crews that decide this one.

Biloxi came into their game on Monday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They came up short against Hernando, falling 10-2. The Indians' loss signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Jackson Irvin made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 3-for-3 with one stolen base and one RBI. That's the most hits he has posted since back in March of 2024.

Meanwhile, Monday just wasn't the day for Lafayette's offense. They fell just short of Petal by a score of 2-0 on Monday. The contest marked the first time this season in which the Commodores were not able to get on the board.

Lafayette also got a good showing from Jake McMinn, who didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over four innings pitched.

Lafayette has also been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-4 record this season. That patch can't be blamed on the team's pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.5 runs on average over those games. Biloxi now has a losing record of 4-5.
