Shoals was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their eighth straight loss dating back to last season. They lost 19-9 to the Mitchell Bluejackets. On the bright side, the nine- run performance marked the Jug Rox's highest-scoring matchup to date.

Peyton Harger made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double. That run marked the first that she has scored this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Maisie Kidwell, who went 1-for-3 with two runs.

Shoals' defeat dropped their record down to 0-7. As for Mitchell, their win bumped their record up to 3-7.

Shoals and Mitchell could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Indiana Rankings. The Jug Rox will challenge Northeast Dubois at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday with a big rank disadvantage (356 vs. 137). Meanwhile, Mitchell (ranked 306th) will meet Orleans (ranked 58th) at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
