Baseball Recap: Newell-Fonda Takes a Loss

Newell-Fonda suffered their biggest loss since July 9, 2024 on Saturday. They lost 10-1 to the Unity Christian Knights. Perhaps unsurprisingly, the Mustangs' biggest loss of the season was also their lowest-scoring.

This is the second loss in a row for Newell-Fonda and nudges their season record down to 3-5. As for Unity Christian, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 7-6.

Coming up, Newell-Fonda will take on Emmetsburg at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. The E'Hawks' pitching crew has only allowed 3.7 runs per game this season, so the Mustangs' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Unity Christian, they will welcome Boyden-Hull/Rock Valley at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. The NIGHTHAWKS have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed eight runs per game on average), something the Knights will no doubt try to take advantage of.
