The biggest upset of the week belonged to North Monterey County, who took down 506th ranked North Monterey County, 23-6.
Michael Turner and Ronald Turner provided fans with a highlight when they connected against North Salinas. The connection was good for 97 yards, the longest such play in Monterey Bay - Pacific this season.
Seaside's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Turner threw for 287 and three touchdowns and Turner had 97 yards receiving. On the ground Turner chipped in 109 yards. Kordell Reed helped Seaside's passing attack out by catching two balls for 70 yards.
The Spartans' Turner and Joseph Jakubowsky have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Turner has thrown for 1611 yards this season, while Jakubowsky, a 5-foot-8 receiver, has 27 catches for 465 yards. Hugo Renteria from Monte Vista Christian leads the league in rushing with 415 yards.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when Seaside takes on Alisal. Alfred Avila's team is in first place, while the Trojans are in third place.
The top two defenses in the league will face off this season when the Spartans take on Alisal. Seaside has allowed 47 points this season, while the Trojans have given up 86. The Spartans allowed 0 points last week as they beat the Vikings.
