Basketball Recap: Miramar's Higher State Rank on Full Display on Wednesday

Miramar had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They took down the Nova Titans 75-59 on Wednesday. Given the Patriots' advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 78th, while the Titans are ranked 395th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Miramar had a senior duo take command as Joshua Skinner dropped a double-double on 28 points and ten rebounds and Siah Blot went 7 of 16 on his way to 23 points and three steals. The matchup was Skinner's fifth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Devin Watson, who posted six points.

Miramar has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 18-8 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 66.6 points per game. As for Nova, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-11.

Miramar will challenge Everglades at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams are coming into the game red-hot, with Everglades sitting on six straight wins and Miramar on three. Nova does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
